You're getting a Disk Full error - how much space is there on your hard drive?
You need to keep at least 10% free - or 10GB - for Windows to work happily.

I had about 200 MB left at the time I was posting. Now I am at 1,7 GB of free space and I fear that I am not able to get any more, since my system partition is so small (40 GB). I'm going to reboot and post the results.

A 40GB Windows partition is much too small for comfort - you should plan on 100GB as a bare minimum. (It is possible to run with less, but 100GB allows wriggle-room and prevents just the sort of thing you're currently seeing)

You may be able to adjust existing partition sizes to allow this - using third-party software. You'd need to shrink the partition after the Windows one, then move it to the end of the available space, and then extend the Windows partition into the created space.

Ok the system drive now has 50GB of free space and the 666 error is still present. What should I do next? Thank you.

You probably need to run CHKDSK to get Windows to accept the new numbers...

Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories
Right-click on the Command Prompt entry
Select Run as Administrator and accept the UAC prompt - the Elevated Command Prompt window should pop up.
At the Command prompt, type
CHKDSK C: /R
and hit the Enter key.
You will be told that the drive is locked, and the CHKDSK will run at the next boot - hit the Y key, and then reboot.
The CHKDSK will take a few hours depending on the size of the drive, so be patient!
After the CHKDSK has run, Windows should boot normally (possibly after a second auto-reboot).

Then do a new Check for updates and try again.

OK -please post a new set of log files, and also a set of Event files...

Open Event Viewer
click on the Windows logs entry in the left pane to expand it.
Now click on the Application entry - wait while it loads.
Click on 'File' in the menu bar and select Save...
Save the file as Appevt.evtx
Repeat for the System log
then zip both, and upload them.
