Windows updates failing to load.

Hi. troubleshooter states window 7 sp1 service pack is missing from acer laptop, tried everything, including burning sp1 iso onto dvd, failed to install. some type of corruption on laptop stopping sp1 and updates installing, Any ideas?

Does the PC still have the factory install? If so that is the worst possible install of Win7 one can have, larded with bloatware and duplicate utilities which interfere with better versions built into Win7.
