Windows Vista SP2 32 Bit - Trying To Sort Updates But Now Stuck

Last update shows as Aug 2016
Updates hanging when searching, left hanging for 5 days

Have gone through other posts on here similar and have stopped updates & set to manual etc in update properties & rebooted

I think I should be searching for a certain KB in updates, ones Ive seen on forum posts are KB3020369 & KB3172605 but trying to download them they are not compatible for my system, bear with me as I am NOT pc literate..

Where do I go from here ?
