When I maximize any window, it resizes to just a little bit too large. The resolution of my monitor has not changed, I'm still running at 1280 x 1024, and have been for quite some time. But this is a recent problem (annoyance). I'm wondering if maybe this was caused by one of the recent Windows updates. I can't pin down when I first noticed it, but it's driving me nuts. Anyone have any suggestions?

If you haven't done so already, right click on an empty space on the desktop and select resolution. Make sure the resolution is the same as your monitor. The correct resolution usually has (recommended) next to it.

My monitor is set at the recommended resolution, and there have been no graphic upgrade by WU that I can find. I updated my Intel Graphics driver this morning with no change in the way windows maximize. I can work without maximizing the windows, but I shouldn't have to. It's real annoying and I can't seem to figure out what it could be or how it started. Any other ideas? :banghead:

Hello Mike,

I'm not sure if this is the cause, but you might double check your DPI settings to see if it's still set at the default of Smaller - 100% = 96 DPI (Pixels/Dots Per Inch) just to be thorough. This would normally affect everything, but if it were custom set only a bit higher, then it could cause things to look the way you described.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Maybe you have to run "Auto adjust" in your monitor control panel.

I don't know why that never crossed my mind, but it worked. Thank you for pointing out the obvious.:banghead:
