about 5 months ago a baught a new HP Elite 300z AMD PC, i droped close to 3000 after all monitors and pc customization from hp, recently i have run into some issues, explorer.exe crashes CANSTANTLY, most programs onced opend and then closed will not open again, trend micro will not start up, my internet is slower than usual, i cant download or un install programs, and worst of all i cant shut down or re start, i get stuck on the shuting down page or the loging off display screen, i have done several factory resets with recover discs i have orderd from hp, i have tried startup repair, sys repair and manualy checked over my regestry and found nothing obviously wrong, i have the feeling somthing i do not know about is running in the background but do not know what, when i went to a geek squad some one told me i would need a suplemental disk which hp is refusing to send me saying " oooah i am thinking it would be dis three, are you having the disk?" and they have hung up on me multiple times.
if someone could shed some light on the situation, adleast this would make a little more sence and would be better if someone has a solution.

( forgot to mention,,, all drivers are up to date )

The type of the file system is NTFS.
Cannot lock current drive.
Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another
process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be
checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N) n

i had earlyer sayed yes and when it re started a s creen came up and it whent by somewhat quickly, by the time i noticed it finished, my computer was restarting, and haveing trouble restarting at that

Ok. You were correct to say "YES", but it should have taken longer to run after the first reboot.

What are the symptoms of the non-restart now? At what point is it getting too, and are there any messages shown?

when it started it had ran for about 5-10 min, when it was done it just ATEMPTED to restart, after 15 min i force shut down and started manualy and when i started up it installed updates up to 30 pct, and then ATEMPTED to restart again, once again around 20 min i restarted and then when i got in it apeared to have cleaned up my desktop a bit but didnot solve any problems, + latly my middle monitor of 3 isnt starting on time, it takes about 2 seconds longer to turn on every time i shut down, restart, or turn somthing on to full screen, its always 2 seconds behind, i think its most likly related.

I don't understand : you say it re-started, but then then you had to force a shutdown? Why would you need to force a shut-it down if its re-started?

What updates is it doing? Windows updates? Some updates require a re-start, so you shouldn't intefere with that process? If its re-strating by itself after updates, then let it do so.

Is the PC making any beeping noises just prior to rebooting itself?

Every time I install something it says installing updates, same if I un install, when the chkdsk /f finished it ATTEMPTED to restart my computer after installing updates, i eventualy after about 15-20 min felt I should do it manual, when I got into my computer after manual restarting most of the programs on my pc. Had lost a lot of the saved settings, which is ok because I've just done a system restoring a few days ago. And I don't here any beeping noises on a day to day basis when it tries to restart or I manual do it, I think I might've heard it once or twice.

I'd actually check for malware and viruses on your computer. Uninstall Trend-Micro on your system and replace it with MS Security Essentials. Gurus and Experts recommend MS Security Essentials. It is free, easy to use and less-annoying.

Also, install Malwarebytes and post back with the results. Do this in Safe Mode. Please do few full scans.

Btw, why would you bring the computer to the Geek Squad? The first thing they would do is reinstall Windows. If you bring it to us (seven forums), the first thing we would do is tell you what to do.

geek squad isnt alowd to reintall windows, they did software diagnostics, hardware diagnostics, and nothing poped up as abnormal, they ran several virus checks and they sayed nothing was wrong after hooking it up for 3 days to a computer app which runs diagnostics multiple times i guess

For your Geek Squad, they probably don't re-install Windows. MOST Geek Squads (where I live) they do re-install Windows.

They probably ran virus checks with their own anti-virus software or a third-party (i.e. Norton, McAfee, Kaspersky). If you use MS Security Essentials and MalwareBytes to scan for malware = probably make a big difference.

so far ive narrowd down its not a virus, or adleast i think, im pretty sure hp has programs that are not shuting down, they do it all the time, if you buy an hp, you are really renting it, you dont really own it, they take over, once get this resolved im getting riddof everything i can of HPs, i droped 4gs on it at this point on upgrades, my minimum power supply shouldve been 600, they gave me a power supply with 450, i had to upgrade 800, i wouldve perverd a 1200 but i coiulnt afford it and its not worth complaning, avery time i cntact them i call india and hve problems where they refuse to fix it despite my warenty.
