Sorry i might have missed that. What would be the proper way to wipe the hd? I have another machine i can hook the drive up to

Not always, but you'll never know if you don't run with the installer/optional Updates drivers for awhile after selecting Automatically get recommended drivers and updates for your hardware

Having a baseline perfect Clean Reinstall will also help us troubleshoot better.

Since it has solved performance problems in the past and not just boot issues and reinstall blockages, I'd also wipe the HD first with Diskpart Clean Command from DVD Command Line. DISKPART At PC Startup

Found it. So this clean all is gonna take an hour or two on a 500gig drive im assuming

I would run the Clean command as stated in the link title, not Clean All which is only needed to make data unrecoverable by most methods.

Clean will overwrite the boot sector with zeroes so no code can conflict.

Ive done this command before @ each install but will try again with the drive unallocated first. It seems something is being remebered and causing issues

Everything works now except for backup (dont ask me why it just doesnt work like every other install ive done gawd). Decided to splurge and buy easus backup workstation.
