Solved Windows7 - Reinstall to old Tablet

Hello,

Got an old Tesco/Viglen Connect 10.1 Tablet, currently running Win10.
I want to go back to Win7.

Any tips where to find a Win7 iso to download and then use Rufus to create a bootable usb stick

Did it have win7 initially ? If not you might have some diificulty Win7 doesnt natively support installing to sd card.


If it was originally win8/10 you might have more more luck installing/reinstalling win10 on there

TBH,

I can't remember.

Think it may have been Win8 being a tablet, the keyboard I have came later as an add-on

If it is an sd card you won't be able to install win7. It was possible on a few specific machines but far fom easy.

Got a Win 7 Pro SP1 iso on a usb created by Rufus as a bootable.

The boot goes past the usb to existing Windows. Reconfigered to boot from usb first, disabled safe boot.

And still sails past the usb.

Tried running setup from the usb in windows, starts to install then cannot find a Intel H,ost Controller.
Downloaded Braswell drvs 32bit. During the install I direct the search for drv to the folder and none of the 4 dvs listed are compatitable.

I'm not trying to use the tablet as a everyday pc, just to run software for controlling a model railway with DCC.

The hardrive has 28gb and windows 10 taking 23gb currently.

Any 'How to' to solve the sd host contoller.
