:o I can usually pinpoint minor issues, but I dont have a solution for this one yet, bringing it to the community to see if anyone knows or has encountered this issue..
For a while now, I have noticed that SOMETIMES, when i start up my pc, and I get to the desktop..that instead of the "normal" way it starts, ...meaning , i can instantly move my mouse around..it now sometimes FREEZES my mouse for a LONG time!..sometimes more than 1-2 mins. EVERYTHING else is loaded up..no HDD light indicator, i have a "24 clock", from the TV show"24" running as a gadget , so i see the seconds changing.. My keyboard works ( although , sometime back the problem occured with BOTH my keyboard and mouse at startup)..i Have a logitech g9 mouse , which uses SETPOINT..so i figured it might be a conflict with setpoint, so i disabled it from startup, and still the same problem.. so TODAY , since im able to use my keyboard when this happens, i hit CTRL , ALT, DEL and goto task manager, in task manager, i ended the winlogon.exe process, and it brought me to a logon screen, ( my mouse was already moving now btw), i clicked my account and logged back in , and all is working now...
does anyone know what the heck is happening here?

Welcome!

This may be hard to diagnose, because there does not seem to be a pattern to the hang.

Try looking in the Event Viewer, and see if you can find any entries that point to that hang.

You can also disable all non-Microsoft items on startup, and see if the problem goes away. If it does, we can work on identifying the rogue process.

Well, just to point out winlogon.exe is not the cause, what ever you have installed is. Probably trying to run when it gets called by winlogon.exe cause it handles getting the shell up and running along with any user specific startups.

Try removing any third party mouse software, and just let Windows install the driver.

not fast enough
I have a G9 and a logitech wireless mouse, both use setpoint. You might be able to install the newest SetPoint drivers. this might help.

or Try uninstalling Setpoint and installing the drivers in SafeMode.

I have seen another problem similar to this when having usb mice plugged in to the front of the case. If you have the Mouse plugged in to the front, try plugging it in the back or try plugging it in to a different usb port.

thanks all, for your replies, I'll try your suggestions, and as far as where my mouse is connected , its in the back, so that rules that possibility out at least
