Winrar "not responding" at ~ 99%

I have noticed this with many versions of WinRar, on x86 and 64bit versions of Windows 7, and can't for the life of me figure out why. Almost always, when unraring a file, WinRar lags "not responding" for at least a few seconds when it's at about 99%. This lag effects not just WinRar, but the whole system. I've mentioned this to a few other people, but no one else seems to recognize this issue. Anyone have any experience with this problem?

Maybe it's waiting while your AV software is checking out the unpacked files?

OHHHH. . . excellent thinking. . . that may very well be a cause. . .and, certainly worth the wait. . . if that's what it is, then, I'll happily wait the few extra moments!

That would be the most probable cause. As the files are extracted, your AV does a preliminary scan for threats which puts most zip apps out of action for that brief period while the scan is being performed.

I don't run AV, and it does the same thing at 99% sometimes takes as long to complete as it did to get to 99...

Only thing I can think of is it's putting the file together and needs to scan each archive one last time at the end?

Anyone know a fix for this? I just updated to 5.0 beta x64 and same issue still happens
