I have been using my wireless adapter for a couple years now but it has started to drop connection for no obvious reason about every 5-10 minutes. I believe this is a device related issue not a network problem hence my posting here.

Changes made around the time the issues began:
New Wireless headset
New Keyboard
New Wireless Adapter (Both behaving the same issue)
Moved into garage with no air conditioning and it was very humid.

I don't believe drivers are an issue
PSU may be but I don't know why it would just now start after years of use.

Any info needed feel free to ask and sorry for not providing enough if that is the case. I am at my wits end with this problem.

Hi Welcome to Seven Forums ... Could be this is a channel problem with the router. If anyone near you uses the same channel for their router it will cause dropped connections. Try using another channel on the router which may fix the problem.

You will need to go to your Router Settings ..

I know how to do this and will attempt it now before I go to work. However I doubt this is the problem as we only have one neighbor.

I will go ahead and add an important bit of information that I don't know how I forgot. I am about 100-150ft away and downhill from my router. It did work for 2 years though so I don't believe this is relevant.

Also thank you for your reply :). I will post results when I get home in 10 or so hours.

It definitely seems a Router issue ... You have moved to the Garage is that attached to your house ?

Range can be an issue ...

No I'm sitting about 20ft away from where I formerly sat. The router in question is at my relative's house. (I have permission ;)) Can you think of anything that would cause a router to behave this way all of a sudden? also let it be known that I have tried using the router I placed up there and the modem that was already there. I have the same problem with both.

The channel changing seemed to do nothing for me.

I noticed that when i plugged it in one time after a good while without any problems it dropped immediately however even with it unplugged it continued to drop after a while.

Were your thoughts on interference or perhaps PSU?

Upgrading my firmware and setting a static IP seem to be the only 2 things on that list that apply to me or that I haven't already tried however I don't believe I can upgrade my firmware since I don't know the model number of my relatives modem. It does seem though that my steam downloads have gone quite a while without any drops so I am going to attempt to play a game and will return to this afterwards with my findings.
