WLE 2011 Mail - Any Conversation Options?

Just started using WLE 2011 (have used WL Mail for several months) and am learning about 'conversations'. Are there any options for the way WL Mail works with conversations?? (I.E. can conversations 'key' on domain names ... all emails from "[email protected]").

Normal conversation mode sorts by sent conversation. You can click on the conversation pulldown and change that to alphabetic or others.

I think you are asking to sort by address and by alphabetical. It can do one or the other but not both at the same time.

We could use more info of course.

Let me explain what I'm looking for:

I receive many emails that are basically 'alerts' ... they start with the same words but then the rest subject is variable. And after a quick read, I delete them .... which means they go to my 'deleted items' folder - so periodic 'cleaning' is necessary. It would be nice if WLM could lump those together thus enabling a 'permanent delete' of all the alerts for 1 domain with a single (logical) click. (I was hoping conversations could do this for me).

WLM is great at creating mail rules. I too get hundreds of "alerts" like google etc. It is an easy thing to create a rule to park them in their own folder for a quick skim then delete.

You may need to make a folder (or sun folder for each)

When I get a handle on the ones I want to keep and the ones to auto delete I create a rule to delete on server, or delete locally.

Good thought Lomai ... I'll look into it ... I've used 'rules' before (OE6 and previous WLM) and they didn't work consistently. Had to frequently redefine to keep them working.

Finally found where 'rules' are defined but didn't see any 'action' that would permanently delete an email message (assume 'delete' means put the message in the 'deleted items' folder.

It would be great to have some info about where the various options are - since they've changed drastically from the previous version.

The Help file on the application itself is one of the most underutilized tools.

Perhaps you meant to reference the WLM help file, which is not part of Office.

It was my fault - the thread was on WLM and I assumed all along it was Outlook.

When the program is open use the keyboard shortcut "F1" key. In the pre-2011 version there is a "delete" action, which should also be present in 2011. Keep in mind that messsage rules only apply to POP3 inboxes.

Of minimal help ... F1 links to MS Live Mail Help which is very cursory - nothing detailed.
Hopefully, 3rd parties will begin to "publish" (i.e. make available on the web), info about how MLMail actually works, etc. -- if ppl can wait that long anddon't throw out MLMail before.
