The functions keys for the wmp12 work perfectly fine when I got my computer. Which is an Asus model G73JH I could play games and switch songs without the game minimizing to do so.

I turned computer on one day and now every time I hit pause/play forward/back it minimizes my game(doesn't matter which) and the wmp takes precedence. This also applies to everything I do. WMP stays minimized itself, it will just switch over and highlight itself taking precedence, applies to everything i.e. surfing the web loading up programs etc. little help please :(

I updated driver for the ATK and function keybord and I can not do a system restore to the point before this started happening.

have you try troubleshooting Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Troubleshooting.

or check your game settings.

It isn't a game issue, it applies to my function keys and something with windows taking precedence when using them. It happens no matter what software i'm using. If i'm surfing the web it doesn't pull the screen down since wmp is minimized, but it deselects my web page and selects the minimized wmp if that makes sense.

I.E if you were typing your login and you changed song, it would switch to wmp, but keep your web up and if you tried to continue to type you couldn't until you clicked on the page to select it again.

I can't seem to find the troubleshooting in control panel

also i hope I can get an answer soon. i'm going on leave for two weeks and wont have access to a computer. Leaving tomorrow...

Try uninstalling the Asus ATK software & reinstalling with the update software.

No go, I even tried downgrading to see if they removed the feature.

Just curious, have you tried another player such as Zune, to see if it helps?

Other media players don't work with the function keys. Tested zune and winamp. Looked up info on it as well and they only function with windows media player. I want to try to reinstall wmp 12 or downgrade tips on how to do that? Going to look into this as well, but being in the army I only get brief moments to check from time to time.

WMP

Hi. i was just having the same issue (i think) where pressing any fn shortcut brought WMP to the top, but i have managed to fix it. If you are still having this issue please try what i did.---Close WMP (not minimise) then press the fn play(down) button combo. Windows media center should come up in full screen, all i done was restore it to original size then close it. after doing this the problem disapared. Hope it works for you if you havnt fixed it already
