Wmp 12 -

Hey,

I've recently installed Windows 7 on my PC (an upgrade from Vista) and am trying to play my music through the new Windows Media Player (v12) that has been installed.

The only problem is that on every song there seems to be a "lag" for a second or 2. It doesn't skip any music and picks up where it left off before finishing the song. Then the next track will play and I get the same problem towards the end of the song.

At first I thought there was a problem with the sound, but I've tried iTunes and that plays the music without any distruption at all. One thing I did notice was that I tried to play a CD with WMP and there wasn't any lag, but it does seem to affect all music saved to my PC. Anyone else had a problem with this or knows of a solution I'd be grateful. Thanks.

Hello, Welcome!

This is very common. Let me guess: it only occurs when the song is in a playlist, not a single song.

This is the computer preparing to play the next track. I'm guessing that your computer is on the low end for resources.

I have yet to see a solution for this, other than upgrade your hardware. If you post you system specs, perhaps we can determine your weakest component.

I have that problem too. but it pauses for a short time so I dont really care much XD
