hello,
I've a large windows media player database (currentdatabase_372.wmdb) working on windows 7 ultimate and i tryed to copy that to a new pc with windows 10 OS. looking on mediaplayer folder (in windows 10), the database has a different name ( currentdatabase_400.wmdb). I tryed to rename the old (372) to 400 without success. Anybody know the way to update the old database 372 to e new one 400 ? thank You for your help

It looks like the wmdb file is just for indexing what's on your CURRENT running OS. So this would be useless on another OS. In your case Windows 10.

I have found little information on this file so trying to read the database let alone try to convert it is impossible unless there's some obscure source of Info. or program I don't know of.

If your goal is just music tags and whatnot, then check out these two programs. One of them looks like it does create its own database... So run it in 7, copy/paste the database on over to 10.

Metatogger - audio tagging and renaming tool

TagScanner - MP3 manager and tag renamer
