WMP can not play all MP4 files

Hi

I'm new to Windows 7.
I have a bunch of Video files, most of them are mp4.

My new computer is a windows 7 WMP and it can not play some of my new mp4.
I get sound, but the video is distorted with huge lagging pixels.

If i play the file in VLC or Live movie maker, the file plays just fine.

what to do?

Do you have Shark007's codecs? Shark007's FREE Codec solutions - Windows 7 codecs

Well I figured that it was not a codec problem, since the other two players could play them,
Anyways I have tried with K-lite and Codec essentials, I have not tried Shark, should this be better ?

The codec required comes with VLC, it doesn't with WMP. I have the Shark codec package and my WMP plays everything now.

If trying the Shark007 codecs, please know that I have a few MP4 samples (with subs) that require me to disable Windows Media Foundation on the SWAP TAB of the installed settings application to get them to play properly.

Here is what happen.

I installed the Codec - no change
I tried to fix it using the shark config - no change
I used the " Shark recommended settings" - It Works !!

I have not tested if it have trashed anything else yet, but it seems to have done the trick.
