Solved WMP version update

WMP = Windows Media Player

How do I determine the version number of Windows Media Player on my PC?
- Win7 32-bit Home Premium

There is no "About" button in WMP that I can find.

Also ...
how do I manually update WMP ?
- I found the scheduler in "Options"
- we use WMP about once a year for burning CDs, so scheduling is not imperative

Damn good question.
As far as I can remember Windows Media Player is kept updated by Windows 7 Updates.
My last version is 12.0.7601.17514 last update 6/5/2014.
Windows Updates must of done it because I didn't update it manually.

Hang around for other opinions because, well I only got 3 brain cell and the memory only works in one cell.

***Off of the Start Orb/All Programs/right tick on WMP and select Open File Location.
Then just hover the mouse cursor over it and a drop down should give you the information.
