I cannot move my workspace to the top of the screen. Although I can position the double-pointed arrow on the taskbar, I cannot move it. See attached Screenshot. It almost seems there is something invisible there which is blocking it.

I would either remove that picture or modify it so your full e-mail address is not shown. It's an invitation for all kinds of spam.

Do you have the screen maximized?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding "workspace." What portion of what's displayed in your screenshot do you want to be at the top of the screen?

I can't clearly see the posted pic, are there blank borders on the left and right also? There should not be any top or bottom blank borders normally. My school laptop developed left and right borders because I FN'd/F(some number) to get a dual projection, whatever was on my laptop display was immediately projected on the school screen. That operation gave me the blank LR borders, I simply left laptop alone -- in case of future dual projections.

Thank you. No, it's only the top border that is blank by about 2cm or 3/4"

Unuseable space at top of screen

In my screenshot, there is a narrow blue band running across the top. This is part of the unuseable space which is about 2cm (3/4").

I want to delete that particular screenshot but can't find an edit or delete option.

I'm using Opera, which is a Google browser, so I'm hoping the choices are the same.

Go to your Google settings and select Browser. Check the box to show Advanced settings. In the User Interface section, check the box to Disable tab bar's top spacing when browser window is maximized.

Does that help?

Thank you indeed. I can follow your steps to 'Advanced' but I have no 'User Interface' option. I've tried 'restore settings to their original defaults' with no success.

F11 produces a full screen as opposed to a maximised screentbut only temporarily and results in the loss of task bar options.

I've tried CTRL+WIN+SHIFT+B with no success.

I note another user with this problem upgraded to Win10 and that worked but only for a while.

Can you help me some more please?

Many thanks.
Monica

Your email address is still there. Edit the post and remove everything relating to the image.

So your taskbar is always cut in half like that?
