Say no to pre-built systems.

Just build it yourself.

And with the latest news regarding Sandy Bridge's chipset issues, I'd build a system around LGA 1156... Or wait until late February/Early March for the revised P67/H67 chipsets.

Wait for the P67/H67 revised chipsets to go out (probably in a couple of months) and then buy a Sandy Bridge based PC:

Core i5 2300 @ 2.8GHz
H67 Motherboard (Gigabyte or ASUS)
Nvidia GTX 400/500 Series (EVGA or ASUS, reference models, no "OC" models)
4GB RAM DDR3 @ 1600Mhz, 1.5V (Corsair Vengeance or G-Skill Ripjaws X)
750W PSU (SeaSonic or Corsair)
Cooler Master HAF Case
Small SSD (OCZ or Corsair)
Big HDD (Samsung F3)
SATA DVD Burner (LG)

And i think you'll be under 1100$ (That build, of course, is if you don't want to overclock your PC, if you want to overclock, that's another story.. You'll need a "K" series processor, a P67 Motherboard and the price WILL go up)

May I ask why you need that much RAM?

BTW, 12GB of RAM would be in a Triple Channel configuration..

in Dual Channel you could have 2, 4, 8, 16 GB

Triple Channel: 3, 6, 12, 24 GB

But keep in mind that, unless you'll be doing intense Video/Audio rendering or a lot Photoshop/Illustrator work, 4GB is more than enough really.

You could save up those ~$150 required for 12GB RAM or whatever, and spend it on a better CPU/GPU/SSD/Sound card...
