i know it has been discussed on here already, but i am currently sitting without a operating Nvidia driver. i have tried to download the newest version of the Nvidia driver for my 9600m gt and mod it with the nvidia mod program (fail), i have tried downloading the older versions of the driver and modding them (fail). the closest to success i had was downloading the new version, mod and my mouse was glitchy and the screen went black on me so i had to boot in safe mode to uninstall.
if anyone has some insight on how to get this new driver for the 9600m or 9600 gt to work on the xps one and can help that'd be great. and yes i have read all the older threads, but they are very vague and the instructions just got me closer...
oh i have a dell xps one 2420 running windows 7 enterprise edition 64 bit

ok no go on the driver stormy provided. it wont even install, get the same "this driver not compatible with hardware" error.
i know people on here have the same set up and everything is working fine. could you tell me which version of the driver you are using? and how you went about modifying them?

Assuming it shows in Device Manager, check the properties for the video and on the Details tab check the Hardware ID. Then double check that it actually is in the INF, and if it isn't add it manually. Then try installing again.

Yea I've checked the .inf
It's downloading but I'm getting freezing mouse and screen blacking out. Someone said on a Dell board that this could mean a bad video card...I'm going back to vista to check the card
