You need to config your Yahoo account to use POP3 first. Read here how to do that - Mail Help | - SLN3255 - How do I receive my email in another email program?

In ThunderBird under the new account wizard just enter your e-mail address without the .ph then click continue and it will find the correct settings.

Next add the .ph to your e-mail address and click continue again. This time you will get the error "Thunderbird failed to find settings...." and it brings up the manual settings. Just click create account and it should work.

I created a temp e-mail address to test this and found that I could leave the .ph off and it still worked and I also tried adding it to the end of the Incoming and Outgoing hostnames which also worked but gave a Certificate error.
