Hi!
yahoo messenger is blocked at startup by my user account control. I have to manually enable it at before it runs. and I notice that while some other people have the same problem, but this is not always the case.

is there any way to tell UAC to let Yahoo messenger run at startup without actually disabling UAC?

What level do you have UAC on?
1-4
1 off
2 low
3 med
4 high

Mine is set to 2 and yahoo never ask me anything. If you have it set to 4 high then it will ask every time.

Are you sure this is a UAC prompt? On both Vista and Windows 7 the build in Firewall blocks Yahoo Messenger, I click allow access once and Yes to the UAC prompt then it works fine.

I would try to uninstall yahoo messenger and then download the installer again. Once you have it run the installer in admin mode and see if the issue comes back.

I think the question that needs to be asked...why does Yahoo Messenger require administrative powers? It makes no sense...
