Only build 7600. I won't have access to the official RTM until the 6th.

As is Movie Library still shows hidden files so I'm implementing a fix. This will be the last change prior to releasing 1.2.

Sorry for not having provided an update here in a while, I've been busy both on Yammm and other projects.

The good news is that I've added more features, the bad is I'm not quite ready to publish. I had the bright idea of hosting part of the metaservices in an Azure site but after playing with it there for about a week I realized I'd exceed the daily bandwidth cap within a couple hours if I had over 20 users (I'm hoping Yammm does but not sure to be honest). I've reverted back to a SQL 2008 R2 backend but still making minor changes here and there.

I'm also scheduled for my surgery next week. If I don't get it published this week I'll have a couple days of being in a bed to work on it =0

Just wanted to mention that I made a minor update to the current released version so that locked folders will retry. I had this in v1.2 already but I've had a lot of e-mails asking why folders weren't being renamed right away when they were copying folders over so I added it to the current version. If a folder is locked, it will download the metadata and artwork then queue it for retry.

So the most recent is v1.0.3526.15926. It is available via: http://www.mikinho.com/wmc/yammmsetup.msi.

Just installed v1.0.3526.15926 of YAMMM, but nothing seems to happen.

I have my ASRock ION PC set up for WMC and YAMMM installed there, but the video files are on a shared drive on my main PC.

Do I have to map a drive from my ASRock to the shared drive, or should it work via UNC, or do I have to install YAMMM on my main PC with the shared drive ??

I have 1 folder on my ASRock with some movies in and I have run the file2dir.bat file so that it creates the films in the their repective folder, but when does the metadata get downloaded ?? Does WMC have to be running to dowload the data, or is it YAMMM that does it ??

Also, does YAMMM work with TV shows as well ??

As an aside, I have added all of my video folders (movies and TV hows) to the Video Library - should they go into their respective libraries, Movies and Recorded TV ??

If you are using remote shares you'll need to enter a remote username\password on the Library tab. Use UNC Paths, shared drives are currently unsupported.

Yammm will download the metadata as soon as possible, WMC doesn't need to be running. The current version does not support TV shows; however, the new version already does. It is still a couple days away.

In terms of your Library setup. I put my movies and tv shows in their respective Library but I also add them to the Video Library as a backup.

That's fantastic news, glad v1.2 supports TV as I have a few rips. As always, the new version is very anticipated but only in your own time

Just YAMMMing up my collection now !!

I'm glad v1.2 will have TV support, as now I am a convert to WMC from XBMC, I miss the TV episode information etc. !!

Any chance of a "beta" version of v1.2 now ??

I've tried a couple of meta data managers now, but I can't get any of them to work.

I have all my media in a single folder, with no sub-folders. Here lies all my WMVs, DIVX AVI's, MKV, etc.

To get meta data managers to work, will I need to have each movie file in a separate, appropriately named folder? In that case, is there an app to automate creating folders and moving files?

In the 2nd link, there is a file2folder.bat download to move videos into their own folder.

I only skimmed through it, but on the second look I have now found the points of interest, and YAMM is eating it's way through my collection. Thanks for helping me out!

I'm having some issues with the "hide playlist members" option in YAMMM with Win7 - specifically, it's not hiding the playlist members! I have a few movies that have 2 parts, and all of them show up 3 times (one for the .wvx, and twice more for each part). I can confirm that the playlist members themselves are marked as hidden (if I check the file attributes) but Win 7 MC doesn't seem to be respecting that bit and it's showing them anyway. The files are coming from a remote share that's indexed - is it possible the indexing is screwing it up?

The issue is with 7MC, it looks to be designed to show hidden files. mikinho is currently working on a way to integrate certain code that will make the 'playlist' files work exactly as they should.

Keep an eye out for v1.2 which should be out soon

Great idea

Hey guys, I've been following this thread (and others) for a while in anticipation of setting up my own MCPC. Well, now I have all the hardware, and it works great but I can't seem to figure out this YAMMM app.

I installed it on a Win 7 machine, and have it monitoring my movie collection folder. As soon as I create a folder here it is renamed approriately, a dvdid.xml file appears, and moments later folder.jpg is downloaded. So obviously things are working as expected.

My question is, what kind of information is YAMMM collecting. all my dvdid.xml files look alot like this:

I thought YAMMM would actually get some useful information - like synopsis, cast and crew, and related movies etc... I even saw an option in YAMMM to grab the IMDB rating which I checked. I'm not seeing anything like this though. What am I missing??

eisenpony: this information appear in the Windows Media Center, after you setup your movie libraries. Did you have make the setup?

If not, go to the tutorial in the first page, and follow the links of Orbital Shark tutorial. ^^

I´m waiting eagerly to see the version 1.2, with support to my House M.D. collection.

Mikinho, I have a problem here. My adult movies folder is guarded in a different location in my drive (concerning my sons, that have access to my movies folder). Well, I put the path correctly in YAMMM, but it don´t found anything to this folder.

Any idea?

Check if themoviedb.org has Adult films, I do not believe they do. If not, I can check if one of the different sources I'm looking at does.

btw, themoviedb is currently down =/. I've setup a simple website that I'll be publishing Yammm updates to (I'll still mention here as well) that I'll be starting to publish dev builds for those who would like to test out new features before I get a chance to thoroughly test and publish: Mikinho | Yammm (work in progress, i've only put 30-40 of work so far)
