Today I learned to assume nothing, (again ),

Just wasted an hour more than I needed on a job where the customer told me the DSL password had been set at a certain word, and left the building - the password was still at default as they'd forgotten to press OK

took me an hour to get the correct info from the ISP after multiple variations of spelling and capitalisation, complete with a full reboot after every try

Only good thing was it's not a fixed price job
