Today I went to the statue of liberty and walked by ground zero (i'm on my summer trip)
Wore my Red Sox hat proudly and surprisingly didn't get much crap

Now can someone explain to me why Gy m is a swear word? or could be used as a derogatory term in any way? is it a different language thing? or slang across the pond or what?

As for the G word although not a general use swear word in the UK I understand that the words G Y M and e x c e r c i s e are classed as unacceptable in certain localities - mainly parts of Manchester
