yet another no image preview in win7 explorer

I have had this computer for a while. there was no document I had trouble previewing. while I was away on business , I came back to find a butt load of viruses and the only way to rid my self of them completely was to kill my kids, which I could not do and the other was to loose all my files as the computer was frozen, so reformat all. so now I have the jumky original win 7 home prem x 64 crap back...I now CANNOT preview any, I mean any type of image, I have tried everything I could find, performance settings , folder settings, the registry hack settings...I absolutely need to preview my documents natively in windows...I have too...I cant preview even a lousy text file, nor word file etc...nothing. there has got to be some fix for this...However I would like to tell MS and Mr. Gates that this does not happen in LINUX. BUT, I cannot work in Linux on my other computer so ms has me by the balls.

This is a fresh install. I was forced to reformat my drive, as I have already stated. I can preview some photos in win 7 explorer but nothing else. No pdf, doc, text or anything else is able to be previewed. I have tried most fixes including the reg hack which was already correct. surely after all this time of win 7 being out there must be a fix for this crap!
