Yet another "plugged in, not charging" thread

I have a 4 month old Dell Latitude E6230. I have had no problems with my AC adapter or battery until yesterday. Suddenly I started getting the "plugged in, not charging" message for my battery, and it has drained to 0 since then despite being plugged in. If I remove my battery and put it back in, it will charge for 5 seconds and then stop charging. The computer works with no battery only being plugged in. I have already poured over forums where people with similar problems have tried many things.

1) I have restarted my computer while unplugging/removing my battery in every possible order imaginable. This has not helped. I have even tried leaving the battery out for extended periods of time to see if it was overheating. This is not the problem.
2) I have uninstalled the ACPI-Compliant Control Method in my device manager and restarted/reinstalled. This has not helped.
3) I am using the same Dell battery/AC cable that came with the computer. I know that this problem occurs when one uses non-Dell products.
4) I have updated my BIOS. No help.
5) I have tried using every single power plan possible. No help.
6) I have seen that the problem is probably due to the data pin my power plug not identifying my battery as a Dell battery, but the pin is not bent or damaged, and as I mentioned before this is the same battery that Dell provided with the computer that has worked since I got it.
7) I ran the dell diagnostics on my battery and it said everything was healthy.

What next? I have all my work on my computer so it would be a big hassle to have to give it to IT for who knows how long, but if that is the only option left I will try it. Is there anything else I could try?

Welcome to the Seven Forums.

Ask your IT dept if they will lend you another battery for a quick test of the charging system on your laptop.. or maybe borrow a battery from a co-worker.

Hi iancubus,

Welcome to Seven Forums.

We truly regret the inconvenience that has been caused to you. This issue is caused due to a fault with the AC adapter or the charging port on the system.

If possible kindly check a different AC adapter to isolate the issue. You can also check the link below which would help you resolve this issue:
