"You need to format your drive"..?

Hi Guys, can you help me please?
I have a new i5 desktop pc & i have an additional 1TB Seagate internal drive that is 100% working ok with some files on that i cannot loose, when ive plugged in the Sata cable and rebooted the pc i am asked on the desktop to "Format drive" or cancel? i cant format it as like i stated ive got files on it? ive dl the seagate tools and i cant figure out which is the program i need? the drive isnt showing up on "My computer" But it is in Disc Management?

Any help would be Very much appreciated!
BTW im on w8.
