Youtube Song Copyright Question

Hey,
I was wondering if i could buy a song off of iTunes and then put it as the background of a slideshow and then upload it to Youtube. Ive heard that buying a song of of iTunes only gives you the personal licence to use it, and it is breaking Youtube code of conduct.
If so then how do i get the permission to use it?

The song purchase is for personal use. You aren't violating copyright using it for non-profit purposes, but youtube doesn't like it anyway.

They get removed if the owner requests. I have actually seen some legitimate artist youtube channels removed because the record company said remove it.

While the artist is the owner for so long after its been produced the record company holds the rights to that song. If they get greedy which they tend to do, they hire a lawyer to scour the depths of youtube and fine there songs and have them removed.

you request permission from the Record Company, which they will say sure, but give us an assload of money first.
Purchasing rights for mainstream music for public performance is very very expensive.

If it were up to record executives, you would pay per listen for each song you listen to. And in terms of public performance, per listen per person. With the record profits they make almost every year, those whiny crybabies can go pound sand as far as I'm concerned. Worst thing that can happen if you post the video is that it either gets removed or the music gets muted as is the case often with the Warner Music Group.
