Solved YouTube won't play

No YouTube video will play, I get the error below:


Clicking "Learn More" opens two tabs with the same info.
I have uninstalled Flash and installed the newest, 14.0.0.125 and is enabled.

I thought maybe it was an IE11 update from June 10th,


but uninstalling that was no help either.

Another odd thing is when I click the YouTube icon in embedded YouTube vids here, two instance of them open, both with the same error.

Pale Moon and Opera browsers have no problem.

its probably either the ie 11 browser itself or the update that is causing the issue. Especially because ie 11 was really designed more for windows 8 and 8.1 then windows 7. I would try seeing if you can roll back the install of the update and see if it works for ya then.

Youtube problem

Also when you uninstalled flash player did you fully remove all versions then reboot before doing a clean install?

In other words, did you follow all of the steps listed here?

If you did follow those steps and it still doesn't work then it means that IE settings relating to ActiveX controls are screwed up or else something like a flash blocker is interfering with it!

Easy solution is to reset IE. Control Panel> Internet Options> Advanced> Reset> OK.

You then need to re-enable add ons. Internet Options> Manage Add Ons.

Yeah it is IE11 as I said Pale Moon and Opera work fine. Plus as I said I removed the update and tested without help.

I did follow the steps on the googly page Callender. I used Windows uninstaller from Control panel to uninstall, ran CCleaner reg cleaner and another one from tune Up.


I can see videos from NASCAR on Yahoo and NASCAR.com, so some will play, not YouTube.

I'm going for the Adobe uninstaller now.

Flash player Removal

Hi again,

Just to let you know that removing flash player via windows uninstaller doesn't actually fully remove it!

There's an old article on the subject here:

Some of the advice is out of date but it's correct to say that the only way to ensure full removal is to run the removal tool rather than Control Panel!

Another thing is that IE11 can now play html5 video on Youtube without the need for flash player.

What happens if you try using this to play a video?

Damnedest thing guys, YouTube has suddenly started working with no action on my part, however clicking the YouTube icon still opens two tabs with identical video!

The HTML5 player link says my browser already supports HTML5!
Marking solved for now!

Sorry I missed this one Gary,
It's no small wonder why I'm still on ie10

But glad it started working again,
You never know but the best thing you can do with ie? is use Alt+TD or Ctrl+Shift+Delete,
Uncheck all of the boxes and Delete,
The only section actually deleted is the top section,
I personally delete it on exit along with anything else I prefer not to keep,
