I'm trying to get Skype working with my Zoom 5900 adapter in Win 7 Pro 64 bit. There are not any 64 bit drivers avail and no ETA for any. I loaded Skype & the Zoom software in XP mode successfully.

THE PROBLEM: The Zoom adapter IS recognized by the Win 7 O/S but is is NOT recognized in the device mgr in XP mode.

(Skype is working fine in both the 64 bit and in XP mode without the adapter)

Anyone have any ideas?

Does anyone know of an adapter that has the 64 bit drivers?

Hey you sup sorry I took so long I just actually figure out a solution to the problem my self after weeks of trial and error. You have to use the VISTA X64 bit driver as a substitute for window 7.

here is the download link for the vista 64 bit zoom 5900 model:

Save yourself some time. This driver no longer works. I've tried every possible combination of every driver available and have also spoken to Zoom support. The best you can do is install the Vista x64 driver and it will connect the box to your computer, however, it will never connect with Skype.

This was a great product on XP but Zoom support inferred they are leaving the Skype voice market. Apparently they didn't sell enough. Zoom 5900 RIP.

I wish I was kidding Ecnalb1028 because I would desperately like this to work.

What levels of Win 7 and Skype are you running? No matter what I try, I cannot get that phone icon to turn from red to green (i.e., connect to Skype).

Of course the other issue is that Skype on Win 7/x64 seems to have a memory leak the size of the Titanic. If I talk for 15 minutes the VM is up to 300-400 MB. Had one day where I saw it hit 1.2 GB... And as soon as it hits about 300 MB it takes 5 second to dial or hang up...

So assuming you are on the latest maintenance levels of Win 7 and Skype, I wonder what the heck else could be causing this problem.

I have the Zoom 5900 working fine on Windows 7 X64 as well with no issues.

I used the Windows Vista X64 driver, installed as administrator and the latest version of skype 4.2. Icon turns green and works just fine.

Make sure your anti-virus is not blocking any part of the installation.
