Zorin installed: No Dual Boot Options Given. Now Win 7 is "gone"

Hello All,

I've installed Ubuntu to make a dual boot option with Win 7 a number times without major incident. On the advice of a tech friend I installed Zorin 9 trial version on a Lenovo G780. I never saw any kind of screen asking how I'd like to install it, i.e. dual boot, overwrite disk, etc. Zorin installed without a hitch and appears to be running flawlessly ... but there is now no sign of Win 7! I talked with my tech friend who uses Zorin 9 at home. He told me that since my 750gig HD is only 1/4 full Zorin most likely installed itself on a blank area of the disk and Win 7 & files are probably untouched but 'hidden'.

How do I get my files back? I can get a legit copy of Win 7 through work so I'm not concerned with keeping that particular copy. I can always replace Zorin, although I'm not so inclined to at the moment for obvious reasons.

As far as my own skill level is concerned, I rate myself as fairly low, but I've been told repeatedly by people who do tech support for a living that I'm amazingly good at following instructions.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi,
Yep this was a weird one that goes against all I've seen installing Linux in a dual boot or along side a existing os like win-7 :(
I haven't tried Zorin but mint mate 17.1 when well in both above ways :/

Hello and thanks for your replies. Yes, it is weird. In addition to Ubuntu I've installed Mint and PCLinuxOS. I've ALWAYS gotten asked how I want to install Linux on the disk. This did not happen with Zorin. :-(

Anyway, here are some screenshots of disk info I got using Zorin. I can't find Win7 anywhere. Is there any other info you'd like?

Thanks.
