Hello all,

very quickly - I work in a school with many laptops / netbooks around and many of them have decided not to allow me to run Windows update with rebooting the machines. I reboot and receive the same instructions - basically windows update won't run.
Is windows update available as a separate .exe file that I can download (I am thinking USB) and then install so it will "kick start" the update programme?
Any other suggestions would be welcome.

Tim

Nope - pick one machine, and follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)
