Windows 7 Professional and Cyberlink PowerDVD Ultra

Last night I was installing Cyberlink PowerDVD 9 Ultra on my perfectly running Windows 7 Professional (64-bit) computer. It seemed to install most of the way and then all of a sudden I got...not blue screen...but snow white screen with lines on the left that vibrated up and down the screen. I could not get the computer to do anything. I tried to joy. I finally had to turn the power off and after a few minutes, turned the power back on and tried to start again. I got the screen that told me Windows had not shut down correctly and did I want to start in safe mode. I said yes, but back to the white screen. Now I cannot get even to the screen that prompts me to start in safe mode. Any suggestions? Please...I really need some help here. Here is my system setup:

- Lian Li PC61B case
- Corsair HX520W power supply
- Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P LGA775, Intel P45, ATX motherboard
- Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 processor
- Arctic Cooler Freezer 7 Pro
- Mushkin 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 800 memory
- VisionTec HD4870 - 512MB DDR5 video card paired with an Arctic Cooler
Accelero Twin VGA cooler ready to go into the system
- 2 Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB drives with 32MB cache
- 2 Toshiba/Samsung SH-S203 DVD writers
- onboard sound through motherboard
- Klipsch Pro Media speakers

- Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard 4000
- Logitech MX 1100 Wireless Laser Mouse

Not really sure where to go from here. I do, as you can see, have two 640GB drives and I suppose I could start from scratch and just not ever install my PowerDVD again. Please let me know as soon as possible what you think might be the source of my problem. Thanks.

Windows 7 Ult, Windows 8.1 Pro,

For that problem you should do a system restore which will take you back to a point in time before the installation of the power DVD which obviously isn't compatible. The tutorial below will show you how.

Because you can't boot into Windows you will need to boot from the Windows 7 CD and perform the restore from there.

I ust finished installing this, because it came bundled with a new LG optical drive that arrived today.
