System Improperly shut down, UNMOUNTABLE_DISK_VOLUME BSOD

Without an active partition.. it doesn't know where to boot from. Because bootmgr is not on disk you see the error message.

Make PQSERVICE active instead of ACER. Now try to boot normally. Works? If not...same error? Does it boot win7, or do you see ACER recovery menu?

From what I discovered. PQService Partition gives out an message saying Error! when booting, and the strange thing is the SYSTEM RESERVED partition gives out the "UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME" BSOD error after staring windows 7. So, the system has been booting from the SYSTEM RESERVED, where the error started.

Did you check on which partition file /bootmgr is? Most likely only "system reserved" has it. Please confirm

An unmountable boot volume error means that the operating system cannot boot from the hard drive either because the boot files are corrupted, the hard drive is faulty or there is a problem with the cable connecting the hard drive to the computer.

hard drive faulty.....: Can you explore ACER partition and see files?
cable problem: Very unlikely... you see partitions.

Make "system reserved" active. In win7 recovery environment->command prompt:
Code:
bcdedit

What do you see? Make camshot and post

I typed in bcdedit but it says:

Code:
[B]Cannot open volume for direct access.
[/B]

Bootsect, bootcfg, and chkdsk /f c: also returns as:

Code:
[B]The device is not ready.[/B]

So... diskpart
sel disk ... lists only 1 only 1 disk

sel dis 0
list part

doesn't show any partitions ...correct?

But partition wizard shows them... very strange

Even boot from "system reserved" does work... although it crashes when trying to mount C
It has run bootmgr.. so it's readable and there are files. Can you see a lot of files in partition wizard->explore partition on your ACER drive and system reserved?

Strange PW sees everyting. Win7 boot process partitially sees partitions. It sees system erserved boot sector and bootmgr. And most likely bootmenu.

In PW do a resize of ACER and "system reserved". First make "system reserved" ACTIVE if not already yet.
Make C somewhat smaller by dragging left (not the right) handle. So make some unused space on left. (For exmaple 1GB smaller)
Also make start point of "system reserved" different. Drag whole partition to the right so it gets another start point.
Then apply changes.

How to Move/Resize Partition with partition manager? Partition Wizard Move/Resize Partition Video Help.

So change the start position of partition....

Sorry for disappearing for a week or 2, but I got the ACER Recovery Disks. I reimage the machine to factory defaults but now it gives me this BSOD error.

Code:
***STOP: 0X0000007B(0XFFFFF880009A9928, 0XFFFFFFFFC0000034, 0X0000000000000000, 0X0000000000000000)

Know what the error means?

Machine is still the same as you bought it.... same harddrive/video card etc?
I don't know exactly how acer recovery works... I assume it cleans everything on disk and puts harddisk back in state as it was.

Did you ever change something in BIOS?

Please confirm reimaging went succesfully. STOP 7B error appears just after showing win7 animation?

Power on pc and enter BIOS. Find the serial ATA (or SATA) settings. Is it set to IDE, or RAID, or legacy, or AHCI? What options do you have there?
