Windows 7 after End Support screen: NO BACKGROUND!

After getting the End of Support screen and dismissing it, my background is blank (black) and I am not seeing my usual slideshow desktop background wallpaper, can somebody help resolve this issue? I don't want a perma-black background!

That's odd. Shortcuts (if you had them) gone as well? I didn't get an end-of-support message today (I had gotten a couple messages in the last couple of months).



Can you change the background in settings? Perhaps someone with more tech knowledge will be able to assist.

Shortcuts are still here, and I have a slideshow of images. After some fiddling, it sort of works, but the slideshow isn't 100% working, it is being very finicky.

this happened to me too today after i used windows updater. i decided to go in an uninstall today's updates and then my background was restored. sorry this isn't more specific but perhaps it will help!
