Sygnus21:I'm not sure what your end game is but helping is one thing, overstepping your bounds in another. This is what you are doing. All relevant links have been posted and updated. No need to re-write what's already clearly stated, and updated in the instructions on page 1.
And again.... the OP's question has to do with the firmware update. NOT whether the other links are correct. And, again, I've already supplied him an answer that was satisfactory to him.
Again, I don't mind the help, but don't overstep your bounds. If you have a question on the procedures, or the validity of links or whatnot, ask, but don't overstep your bounds. What I mean by that is act as if the procedures are lacking when everything you've stated is clearly linked to and written in the procedures. It's disrespectful.
Thank you.
Let me be clear; I have no "end game" other than to assist the OP in getting his scanner working on win7, which I assume was the ultimate purpose of his enquiry. The question of the firmware update may (or not) be an essential element in achieving this goal. I must say that I am quite puzzled by your outspoken reproof of my efforts and your characterization of it as "overstepping my bounds".
If I have made any serious errors or omissions in what I have written, you would be more than justified in pointing out my failures. However note that what I have written is neither critical nor contradictory to your voluminous contributions. I may have repeated much information that you had already posted, but that can hardly be considered "disrespectful". Beyond that I was not aware that there were well defined "bounds" to what others may contribute. Your rather proprietorial attitude to this thread may well be justified by your long dedication to its preservation, but I find your rather hostile response to my attempts to contribute is, in itself, disrespectful.
