CanoScan Lide 50 in Win 7 32bit - HELP!!!

Canoscan lide 50, not working in Win 7 32bit too, please help - canon said that this scanner is NOT compatible with Win 7 at all and they do not intend to have a driver for this in the near future. One of you got this one working on a 64bit, maybe there is hope for me yet ---

Try running in compatibility mode.

I did try that - its a not working. Was just thinking - got the scanner from a friend without anything. I downloaded the driver, the toolbox and Scangear 7, maybe I am missing something or I might have the wrong software - I am not sure. Thanks

It won't run on Windows 7 no matter what you do. I tried everything and even Canon told me it can't be done. I upgraded to lide100 no problems now

There's nothing wrong with the lide 20. It's a great little scanner. It's just that it is a discontinued model now, superceded by the lide 100 which works great with Windows 7.

Canon LIDE50 installed in WINDOWS 7 Ultimate (x32)

Ich habe den LIDE50 erfolgreich unter Windows 7 Ultimate (x32) installiert:
Scangear CS 7.1.1.3a und CanoScan Toolbox 4.136 downloaden von Canon Download Centre - Drivers, Software and Manual Downloads - Canon Europe und wie gewohnt installieren. Das ist die normale SW für VISTA.
Der Treiber wird in das Verzeichnis C:\Windows\twain_32\CNQL50 installiert. Der Scanner wird gefunden aber die Toolbox kann die TWAIN-Schnittstelle nicht öffnen.

Abhilfe: Den Treiberpfad an die Systemvariable path anhängen. Nun funktioniert die Toolbox und auch andere TWAIN-kompatible Programme (z.B. Jasc Paintshop Pro).
