No calibration software other then the Win 7 one and I think I am saving the profile, but have to admit that I am not at all familiar with the color calibration included in Win 7.

Badspell,

If this is with a desktop monitor, you might see if you may be able to adjust the monitor's color settings directly on the monitor itself instead.

Yeah it seems it is overriding Windows.

Yeah it is a bit wonky but you need to either choose or create a profile if you want Windows to use it. The tutorial Brink listed should work - provided you can get Intel to stop overriding the system. Have you checked the help files associated with the program?

FYI
Found the solution to the problem...for anyone struggling with the same problem on a Sony Vaio.
My Vaio"VGN-NW240F" Has a proprietary Sony service that conflicts with the display driver and does not allow the display driver to save settings permanently...they will reset on log-off or re-boot producing a very pink looking hue. Disable "Vaio Event Service" and then the problem will be resolved. The side affect is you loose function keys that dim and brighten the display, but a simple desktop gadget can then be used to replace the keys.

The service is = "Vaio Event Service"

Team, this thread shows up as one of the top results from Google when this issue is queried, so I wanted to share my solution here so that others could benefit. My similar problem was every time I restarted my computer my preferred color/gamma calibrations would reset. Nothing listed on this thread or in others similar had a solution that worked for me (including going into color management -> advanced settings and setting the system defaults). I stumbled on something that does work though (credit to Guru3d for disseminating the info), a program called Color Profile Keeper, which essentially locks a stored ICC profile and doesn't let anything (including games) reset or ignore it. I know the URL looks weird but you can find the program here: http://goebish. free. fr/cpk/ (take out the spaces)
I have mine set to load up upon startup with a BenQ ICC profile that was calibrated to my liking. A recommendation is to go into C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Roaming\Color Profile Keeper and open up the settings.ini file. Once in there change the values to the following and the program will load up and automatically minimize to the system tray:
[General]
windows_startup=1
startup_apply=1
tray_minimize=1
monitor0=C:/Windows/System32/spool/drivers/color/benq_xl2420t.icc
lock=1
minimized=1

This small program was a god send to me and may be for others as well. Apologies for necro'ing a thread multiple years old, but like I said, it's one of the top results I got when I was researching the issue.
