How to merge licence.key file in Windows 7 ?

Status
Not open for further replies.
I'm somewhat surprised about some reactions from my friends.

The OP did name the software when asked by z3r010.
It was Teracopy.

It's an app to speed up copy over network, and indeed it has a license.key file to license it.

I to have a few older apps that need to be registered this way.
Most of which I bought.
Not all. I'm not going to be a hypocrite about it.

What I don't understand is that the OP cannot right click and merge, because that functionality is still present in Windows 7.
I just checked.

And so his question by it self is legitimate.

Do we have to be judges and jury in here?
Do people have to show proof of purchase before they get help?

We don't interrogate everybody with Win7 RTM in their specs do we?
We give them the benefit of the doubt, they either got it through technet or MSDN.
How likely is it, that a noob has a technet or MSDN subscription?

I saw two of my good friends neg repped the OP which in my opinion was totally uncalled for.

The OP was being attacked instead of helped imho, and so it's not strange he wasn't being cooperative but defensive instead.

If I was gullible (which I'm not) I would have to believe that none of SF members ever used any software without proper license, or has any mp3 that he didn't buy, and never ever copied a cd from a friend.
Yeah right. :sarc:

He who is without sin, may throw the first stone.

I just can't stand hypocrisy.
Friends must be honest to one another, so forgive me for being honest.

Sir thanks a ton for ur cooperative post. U said u know how to merge it, would u share it with me how to do it ? I didn't provide the proof of legitimacy of my software b'coz I don't know any mean do it, moreover, it's not secure to share detail with stranger on the internet. I'm right ?

thanks once again.....

I believe you need to pursue the answer to your problem on another forum.

Thank you for your POLITE advise. U could have said this earlier. But would like to stay for a while b'coz one member just said --though ambiguously-- that he knows feature of merging is there. Pls tolerate me for some more time. Promise won't return again.

If you would ask me how to pirate your software, I wouldn't help you.
But you asked how to register a regkey, and that is a legitimate question.

I don't have to check out how you obtained it. It's not my place.

But in all honesty, I don't know why it doesn't work for you.

Maybe you have 64bit? I am on 32bit.
There are more right click items that appear on 32bit os, but not on 64bit.

Good luck

I didn't support piracy myself. I know it's a crime and hurt companies. These people just hurled all time type of unnecessary question on me. That's why I got bit impatient. BTW I'm using ultimate 32 bit, the licence.key file is also not showing the icon of registry file --like it's showing in ur screenshot, it's showing plain white icon. I guess u've installed some other software perhaps that is why it's working. Anyway, its 3 at morning here..so i'll try to install my licence file tomorrow and then tell u it worked for me or not.

Thanks once again, wish all senior members r cooperative like u.

The functionality was always there.

But I think you just found the solution on how to get it back on 64bit W7. :D

If the OP gets this working, case closed. BTW, this idea came to me by looking at the registry icon on the license.key file in one of your post. ;)

I appreciate your honesty. I would have had the same mindset here with this OP if the simple request to know what software he was activating and other important details was not met with an aggressive comment. That to me shows that he has something to hide. If I was posting to ask for assistance with this kind of issue (or any issue to begin with) than I would provide info necessary to diagnose and resolve the problem. I have known forums to be shutdown for providing assistance in activating software that they unknowingly provided. If his request (which appears to me) is legitimate than I will be the first to apologize. Just my thoughts

Hi Zid,

An old :D friend informed me that by the time I came to this thread, some of the OP's posts were already deleted by the mods.
Therefore the whole thing was out of context.

That sheds a different light on the matter, and knowing my friends, it must have been the OP's own fault he got treated the way he did.
I apologize for doubting you.

The heart of my post still stands.

I think it's not our place to judge.
If OPs don't specifically asks to crack sw, we should give them the benefit of the doubt.
And we shouldn't pretend we are the righteous ones.

Greetz
