Hello,
I have windows 7 home, and it keeps going into safe mode. I Don't have an option to choose to boot normally. I have a sony VAIO VGN FW350D, Once the VAIO logo is off the screen, i see a blinking lone for a second then it starts listing the drivers it's loading. Once they are done it shows a message saying that it is booting with 2 processors and in safe mode - directory service repair.

can anyone help me please?

Thanks,

Hello Scooter, and welcome to Seven Forums.

While you are in Safe Mode, check in msconfig using step 2 in METHOD TWO of the tutorial below to see if that may be able to allow you to boot normally again.

Safe Mode - Vista Forums

Hope this helps,
Shawn

thanks,
I've checked the settings, it's set to go into safe mode with active directory repair. I've gone to the general tab and dotted normal boot, I click apply, and then close and re open msconfig to make sure the setting were saved.
When i reset it goes back tosafe mode - active directory reapir.
If i un check safe mode will it still boot normal?

Hi Scooter,

Open msconfig and select the Boot tab. Uncheck Safe Boot, check Make all boot settings permanent and then click OK (all highlighted below). Reboot your computer and it should start up normally.

THANK YOU! My laptop crashed about a month ago and I needed one for college...just bought a laptop hardly a year old off of Craigslist for $75 and the person selling it told me the reason she was selling it was because she couldn't get the Wi-Fi to work. I figured it would be something simple like the router or adapter itself, maybe a driver...after a few days I started wondering if this woman had pulled a fast one on me, needless to say I have the System Recovery console doing a Factory Restore right now. Solved everything. Thank you so much!
