Windows 7 & Marvell Yukon 88E8001

I am having a strange problem with the onboard Marvell Yukon 88E8001 network adapter running on Windows 7 64bit.

For some reason it has suddenly stopped being able to connect to the routers DCHP and obtain an IP address, nothing has changed and it was working fine previous.

When I type ipconfig /all it is assigning it self a 169 IP and not picking up the DG, I have tried manually setting the IP but it still will not connect and displays "Unidentified network"

I have tried uninstalling all drivers and running driver cleaning software and installing the latest drivers but nothing works, the strange part is that it works in Windows XP fine so something on my computer must be stopping it from working but for the life of me I can not figure it out.

Even tried uninstalling Apples bonjour software but that has made no difference, any one have any ideas?

Does it "see" the router? could be firewall, av, driver, etc. we need more info.

No it does not see anything on the network, when I plug into the Marvell Ethernet port it will sit there with the blue circle going around for around a minute and if I open up “Network and Sharing Center” it has a yellow exclamation mark and "Unidentified network"

If I try and ping the router I get “Destination host unreachable.” The port on my router lights up when I plug the network cable in so it’s making a connection.

I am sure it’s not a firewall problem or anything blocking it because my motherboard has dual onboard network ports and the Nvidia one works fine, but I have also tried disabling antivirus/firewall software on my computer and that made no difference.

If you need anymore information just let me know what you need, have included some screenshots.

Problem solved.

It’s to do with the incompatibility of the Nvidia motherboard chipset, Marvell Ethernet controller and 4GB or more of memory when used with a 64bit OS.

As soon as I removed one of the 1GB sticks it got an IP straight away, looks like I will be going back to Windows 7 32bit

EDIT: FYI I have a Asus A8N-SLI Premium motherboard.

I have this same problem with a similar motherboard...

I have an Asus A8n-SLI premium. I added memory and I started getting system instability. My motherboard has two ethernet ports so I disabled the Marvel Yukon one and I am hoping the system will be more stable now.

I use this machine as a webserver and this issue almost had me downgrade back to windows XP. Didn't even think of windows 7 32bit. My other option is to remove the memory module I added.

To complicate things, I did also have an OCZ SSD drive that was failing on me. Got the system much more stable after replacing that, but I am still getting the occasional (once a week) freeze and / or bluescreen.

I didn't notice, sounds like you have the exact same motherboard. Why aren't you using the nvidia ethernet port instead? Do you actually use both ethernet ports?

I believe I have this exact same problem. If I connect the Yukon port to the wan side of the router it sends enough data to assign a dhcp client address to the router then apparently stops sending data. The system is multi boot but XP and ubuntu work fine while win7 64 has this problem. I'm using an old dfi lanparty sli.

I got the latest marvel yukon drivers from here:

I also disabled the Marvell Yukon ethernet port in windows device manager, since my PC has 2 ethernet ports.

My server has had an uptime of 11 days. That's a new record since I upgraded to Windows 7 64bit. I might finally have a solution on my hands.
