I have a SpeedTouch 330 modem and DSL. After I install win7 7137 32 bit or 64 bit and install the modem drivers for Internet connections in the system does not remember password and login to the Internet. Every time I have to manually type the same. I tried AutoConnect but it does not help. Does anyone else have the same problem? And can this be changed?

@pikolo75: You could create a batch file using this command to
connect with a single click

rasdial "connection_name" Name password
exit

BTW: I have the same modem but I haven't installed this build yet! I will tell you in a few hours how the things work for me! :)

I have the same problem with 7137 not remembering my internet connection login details (reported here 7127 vs 7137) I, however, have a direct connection to the net, no modem.

I've upgraded to 7137 and guess what? It doesn't remember login settings! LOL! So now I have to use that bat file to connect to Internet!

Exact same problem here - I had my post all ready when I saw this! Thanks, SuperiorBeen for the batch file solution. I'd never heard of batch files before so I did some research and made one which works. Would it be possible to make the batch file launch Firefox at the same time as connecting to the net? (It's terrible that we're all so lazy we're looking for ways to save one click...!)

Best regards

Its very easy to launch files inside bat files, just ad the path+name of the program:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" - this is for 64bit
then add the exit command!

Also you could make the firefox shortcut to point to the batch file instead of the actual firefox.exe! :)

SuperiorBeen, that is brilliant, absolutely terrific. That's me learnt something new which is always good. Nevertheless, I'd like to see this bug fixed...

Thanks for your help. For anyone else who doesn't know about batch files, use a search engine to find out how to create them. Then, to connect to the net and open your browser in one go (assuming 64 bit OS), use this text:

@echo off
rasdial "My ISP" yourISPemailaddressorusername yourISPpassword
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
exit

Can we try to keep this updated when we try a new build as to whether it is still happening? Quite an important issue for those of us with a lot of vpns.

x86 7231 - still bugged
x64 7229 - still bugged

I am on the 7201 build and I have PPPOE connection so i have to login using a username and password i got from my isp.
Now that i upgraded it always asks me enter user and pass.
If i disconnect and connect it always asks me even though i select the option "Remember my id and pass"

Any idea how to fix this

Read the replies earlier in the thread for instructions on creating a batch file to work around this. Can anyone that has installed 7260 please comment as to whether this bug still exists?

Dunno about that but 7201 has it also.
However the method mentioned at page one works.
Just tested it :D
