BOD:Driver Irql less or not equal

Hi,
I'm using windows 7 ultimate x86.
recently i got the blue screen with Driver Irql less or not equal.
i reinstalled windows to x64 and again i got the BOD.
when i get error pc resets and windows load and after windows loaded, again i got BOD, but i don't got it for 10 hours, and after that again i got 2 consecutive BODs.


please help me. tanks

Hello Zare, Welcome to Sevenforums!!

I have taken a look at your Dump files, and it seems most of your drivers are considered up to date as they're all July 13th 2009 Except one. ( Your Nvidia Video Card )

nvlddmkm.sys Thu May 14 15:48:07 2009 (Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers)

Please Remove your Video card drivers In Device Manager.
1. Right Click My Computer go to Manage.
2. In the Left pane click Device Manager.
3. Expand Display Adapters
4. Right Click Video card and Click Uninstall.

Then Download Driver Sweeper (Guru3D - Driver Sweeper)
Follow instructions to remove Nvidia Drivers. Then refer to the link Above (Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers) to Download latest drivers and install.

Your Dump Files are Showing IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Which is referencing Memory. Most of the time this is a driver, but you only have 1 that needs updating.

After you update video card i would recommend Testing your Memory. This could take 6 to 8 Hours (allowing 7 passes) Refer to this thread for help running Memtest86+ (http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.html)

Post back with the memtest86+ results and any new BSOD that may have occurred.

Hi, TonyTiger, in my prevoues windows (7 x86) i have installed nvidia last driver and also i saw BOD, therefore i think it isn't from my graphic card driver.

i have tested memory for 5 Complete Passes and no sing of errors.
could it be from my hdd? because when my system crashed i was working in project, and after crash my project file contents is cleared with spaces.

for precaution I've changed my memory slots.

If you got a new BSOD after installing a newer version of the nVidia Driver - upload the dump file.

You still need to update this nvidia driver as it is still old. And as mentioned above upload any new dump files created in the process of changing things.

After you have upgraded your Nvidia driver please enable verifier so that we can determine if indeed its a driver. If Once you enable verifier and it crashes to BSOD upload that new dump file. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/101379-driver-verifier-enable-disable.html

I've update my Graphic card driver. and then got new BODs. now i saw your post. in verier which driver name should i select to verify?

the zip file contains all BODs (before and after updating driver)

do i post mini dumps that created before I've update driver, because the program copys all mindumps. do i delete them or not?

You can just backup the olds ones, or just upload only the new ones. Send the dump File after the driver update and any new one with verifier, follow the instructions to enable verifier on all Drivers except Microsoft drivers. Then after verifier is on and it crashes, remember what the Blue screen says. And upload your new dumps.

I've just got new BOD but with another title, but i could'nt read it (i remeber some words: caught, attempt).

After pc resets, i get Boot from CD/DVD:
DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER. this is second time i get the error, first occurrence was 2 days ago, which BODs just started, that time i changed sata port and problem solved, but now that's not the case.

Meanwhile i can’t boot and i'm posting with laptop not pc.

one point is that in my prevoice windows i myself opened minidumps (which i did'nt sent you) with windbg and analyzed them all of them saying that problem may be of ataport.sys, i think this is related to disks.

Highly Unlikely lol Unless wire Was split in to and if thats the case you done shorted something heh.
