I've noticed that on my machine start-up is slower, but other than that it's running fine.

This darn laptop has been through every leak since late 2008, so maybe it's the machine ;)

Mine is taking another ten seconds to start up. It's running fine. I have IE 9 and it seems my news videos are running better.

It took a couple of hours to download and a little over 40 minutes to install. My processor, an Intel E6550 wasn't cutting edge when I got it and it's over 2 years old now.

So far, running fine and no problems. I've been surfing the net, watching movies, and writing some emails.

NON, your post and the comment below scares me. Using the great Tutorial about reinstating Windows Mail and updating mine and several friends Windows 7 putters with Windows Mail (I looked like a hero) now it could cause a problem with future updates? Ouch

"You'll see at the end the stated "error"...it could be "Windows Mail" if you have reinstate it in Windows7... and it could be the installer that can't find the regedit path for the service pack 1. both are told in the CBS.log."

Yes indeed... but now windows mail is fixed looks like another error code.
It is now the registry key... HKLM\Software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\setup\servicepack\sp1...that put me in troubleshot.

I'm working on it!

PS; Could someone tell me what's on their machine inside this registry SP1 key...might help to understand why, thanks!

I've not really seen any differences. Not noticed a considerable difference in startup time or anything. Used RT7 Lite to slipstream it as I'm planning on doing a reinstall soon. If you get RT7 Lite, make sure you download the Slipstream version (version 2.6 beta). The current version doesn't include the slipstream option.

I don't think that's the answer.. because if the SP1 includes .NET Framework 4.0 Client Profile and Windows Live Essentials 2011, then it would show up as an installed program under Programs and Features and it isn't :) that's the kind of "hidden updates" i was talking about.. not the hotfixes..

So, LoL'ing, doesn't solve my problems hehe.. :)

Leakers seem to have gotten their hands on what may be the final Windows 7 Service Pack 1/Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 builds.
(I had heard rumors that Microsoft had put the finishing touches on SP1 in December, but don’t know for sure whether that is true.)
Microsoft officials are not saying whether the latest leaked version is the “real” SP1 release-to-manufacturing version. As usual, the advice to customers is to wait for the official Microsoft-provided SP1 before deploying to avoid potential malware and security risks.
Unlike previous first service packs of Windows — which were an absolute must-have for many business users before they’d even think about deploying the latest Windows variant — the coming SP1 feels a bit anti-climactic. (At least on the client side.)
Microsoft officials have said not to expect any new features in Windows 7 SP1. (There was a Microsoft blog post last year that acknowledged there would be some “feature enhancements” in SP1 around federation services, audio devices and printing.) They’ve also said to expect a couple of new virtualization updates in the server version of SP1, specifically RemoteFX and a dynamic-memory adjustor for Hyper-V.

Thanks all for your experiences regarding the newly leaked SP1. Apparently, I am no longer on the RC SP1 as the watermark is gone.

I had to first uninstall the RC1 Service Pack and my information prior indicated:

ScreenShot00402.jpg

ScreenShot00403.jpg

After the uninstall of the Service Pack RC1 I saw this, of course:

ScreenShot00404.jpg

Then, I installed the SP1 from the leaked sources:

ScreenShot00405.jpg

ScreenShot00406.jpg

ScreenShot00407.jpg

ScreenShot00408.jpg

Afterward:

ScreenShot00409.jpg

No more water mark. Compare the first screenshot with the last. If it's not the real deal, I guess I'll just uninstall it and install the real deal but, truly, this appears to be the real deal ...

ScreenShot00410.jpg

I wish I could've have posted earlier but I had to watch my Packers beat the Falcons. :D

Show off ... ;)

Yeah, no problems here, either, on a standard HDD. :(

EDIT: The start up times are almost painfully slow after the install. As much as I hate to say it, even though this appears to be the real deal, I hope it's not.

I'm thinking of rolling back and installing the RC SP 1 again.

Surely, this isn't what MS intended?

Other than that ... no issues ...

Sorry, didn't mean to showboat. :D Strange a standard HDD has such a difference, there is absolutely no change from before with sp1 on my laptop.
