The partition table does not have a valid system partition. Pt2

I'm not sure what happened honestly. So many problems from such a small change. One thing to note. I have also moved my c: to the disk 0 position at the bottom of my case, and still have not installed the rest of my hard drives.

Go ahead and install the other hard drives. It shouldn't make any difference, but if it does, you have a base point you can revert to.

And yes, BIOS problems can be incredibly perplexing. Often errors occur randomly, and it's not as easy to trace them to that cause.

Will do thanks. Much obliged for everyone's help here. As for the overclocking. I guess I can post a question in the overclocking forum here. Reading through a thread here. Just not sure why my bios freezes.

I've been OCing for 25 years and your problem (as described) is likely timing issues.

Don't push the Asus / Q6600 combo to 3.4GHz - you'll get much better timing (e.g., stability) at 3.2GHz.

Reghards,
GEWB

Thanks for the BSOD analysis, Jonathan.

I'd still post up the requested screenshot of maximized full Disk Management drive map w/listings so we can make sure nothing about the configuration could cause you further problems. Use Snipping Tool in Start Menu.

Thanks for the tip, but I got the black screen when I only overclocked to 3.0ghz

Not unusual as timing for 3.0GHz isn't as stable as for 3.2GHz (I've been that route with my Gigabyte / Q6600 - 3.2GHz is better than 3.0GHz or 3.4GHz)).

I'll post some setting suggestions later this evening.

Regards,
GEWB

I just can't mess with my pc anymore. I have spent another entire day going back and fourth working on my pc and my mothers. I got frustrated putting my hard drive bay and snapped the cable to my fan. Tried to fix that...failed. put everything back and get the boot error from my original post. I'm waiving the white flag for today. Otherwise I'm going to take this system outside and beat the shit out of it office space style.

Thanks for the BSOD analysis, Jonathan.

I've found working with computers is a good time to practice patience, using such cautious, controlled movements that it becomes almost zen and meditative.

I have watched as some practice impatience at these tasks, fumbling with RAM to where they want to snap it off while I coax them to slow down and channel that force into a gentle but firm rocking motion.

It is not conceivable to some of them that one can be using all of the strength within oneself but yet it is not visible to the eye, that much of the strength is being used to steady and control. "Dynamic tennnn-shun" as Dr. Frankenfurter pegged it, the key BTW to muscle development.

It is within this gentle strength that we can find peace in a mad world, not to mention computers that function better than the those of the harried-brained.

Sleep well, sport.

OK, got some setting ideas...

NOTE: my comments above and the setting below are based on an ASSUMPTION (dangerous, I know) that you have a "typical" system : Asus mobo, Q6600 CPU, 500W power supply (or better), DDR2-6400 RAM.

Gigabyte BIOS terminology may be slightly different than Asus but the functions will be the same.

Given: Q6600 CPU, DDR2-6400 RAM

Settings for best stability/timing ratios

CPU Clock Ratio: 8x
CPU Host Clock Control: Enabled
CPU Host Frequency (MHz): 400
PCI Express Frequency (MHz) AUTO (or 100MHz fixed)
Memory Multiplier: 2.00 (this sets the frequency to "800")

DRAM Timing: depends on your RAM specification, best set to AUTO for now
FSB OverVoltage: +0.1 V
CPU Voltage: 1.325 V

Save your changes and see if your boot problems improve or go away.

My CPU-Z screen shots.
