hi, my comp is having some audio problems and i need help.
-windows 7 ultimate 32 bit-


it says i have no audio playback device installed?

One or more audio service isn't running?

Both the Windows Audio and the Windows Audio End Point Builder services must be running for audio to work correctly. Atleast one of these services isn't running?

i dont know what to do.?

i cant start up windows normally. it gives me the screen of death and restarts.
i can only start up in safe mode.

and my sound doesnt work no audio at all.

to help us establish problems please post your pc information here is a program you can download to help you with this called speccy
Speccy - System Information - Free Download
so have you sound working?

1. go to services and look for audio connected services
2. click start orb
3. type services
4. click on services in the search pane
5. look for services for audio sound etc
6. right click to take you to properties and change settings to automatic

Start> Type services.msc in search box and press enter. When the services page opens scroll down to Windows Audio and the Windows Audio End Point Builder will be directly beneath it, both should be started and set to automatic as in my screen shot:



If either or both are stopped, click on the name to highlight it, and click restart the service in upper left. Repeat for both if necessary. If either/both are not set to automatic, then double click the name, and on the dropdown set the startup type to automatic, and apply and ok your way out.



If both are started, and set to automatic, see if that fixes it. If they are already set that way, post back, and we'll try something else. A Guy

Reinstall the audio device
=============
1. Go to Start, type Device Manager, click on Device Manager to open it.
2. Expand "Sound, video and game controllers".
3. Right click on your audio device and then click Uninstall.
4. Check "Delete the driver software for this device".
5. Click OK.
6. After that, restart the computer the device and driver shall be reinstalled automatically.

i have no playback device it says.
how do i install one?
i get,
error 1068: the dependency service or group failed to start.

when i start windows audio and windows audio endpoint i get error.

Did you change services setting before this happened? Did this happen after making some changes? Do you perhaps have a system restore point from before this began? If so, I'd try that 1st. If not:

Start> Type services.msc in search box and press enter> Scroll down to Windows Audio> Right click the entry and choose Properties> Click on the dependencies tab and see if your dependencies match mine:



Do the same for the End Point Builder



The EPB has the Audio as a dependency, and the Audio has other services that it depends on. If you don't see some, check those services and let us know if any are stopped. A Guy

I have been having the exact same problem, and getting the exact same errors. All of my dependencies match yours. Windows Audio and Windows Audio Endpoint are both stopped. When I try to start either one I get the error "Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start." I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers and disabling and enabling drivers, and none of that has worked.

have you tried this in services? change Startup type of power
>Control Panel
> System and Security
> Administrative Tools
> Services
> Right click on Power go to properties
> Change to Automatic if setting is different click OK and restart.

Note: do not disable this

Yes, all of the services mentioned are set to automatically start up.

have you checked in device manager? look for red crosses

type or copy & and paste >> device manager in start menu search box and click on result in the result pane. and enable SHOW HIDDEN DEVICES see my screenshot.

EDIT:
I went and downloaded the Realtek High Definition Audio driver and now this is what I get after enabling hidden devices.

Also make sure that the following services are started and their Startup Type is set to Automatic

Plug and Play

Multimedia Class Scheduler

Plug and Play is started and set to automatic.

Multimedia Class Scheduler is not started and set to automatic. When I try to start it, I get this error message "Windows could not start the Multimedia Class Scheduler service on Local Computer. Error 193: 0xc1".

If no help, it may be time for a repair install, try the System File Checker 1st:

If gives error that some files could not be repaired, run it again after restart. If no help, a Repair Install will almost assuredly fix it:

I just did a repair install last night to fix a System Restore problem.

I used the SFC /SCANNOW tutorial. The scannow showed that I had corrupt files but it wasn't able to repair them. I ended up using the tip where I extracted the files from the Windows 7 Installation DVD and replaced the corrupted files with new ones, and the problem was solved. Thanks so much for all your help!

well done jessicafarina some times you have to run SFC several times to find the corrupt files
