Hello Folks,

Is it safe to keep my backups in other partitions like movies, music, data etc using a folder protecting software like Universal shield and folderxp etc. Will hackers Trojans etc make their way and expose my drives and have access.
If so what should I do?
I use a 500gb sata hdd with 5 partitions running windows 7(2 versions) in dual boot.

Kindly advise.

The answer is yes and no.

Generally malware will not skip to other partitions, but there are some nasties that can. They can even skip drive to drive.

If a trojan gets in it usually leaves the back door open to its master.

A good antivirus, malware protection, a firewall, and most of all some common sense, is your best protection
