i dont know what to do!
i did everything download everything but still nothing!
the speaker icon on the taskbar has a red X
when i open the Device Manager, Multimedia Audio Controller has a yellow flag
i did everything pls help me T^T when i install realtek drivers nothing happens

What is your exact sound card or motherboard?

the sound car is the realtek built in from the motherboard
how will i know what is my motherboard

Is this a pre-built computer, such as a Dell, etc? Tell us the exact model number, not just the name on the front of the case. You'll probably find this on a sticker on the back or bottom of the case.

If you are comfortable opening the computer (assuming this is NOT a laptop), you should be able to find it stenciled on the motherboard itself.

Tell it which Operating System (I'm assuming Windows 7, since you're here, but make sure you get the 32-Bit/64-Bit part right), then go to drivers and look for your sound driver.

Creative is famous for pulling the plug on older hardware by not writing a new driver for it. I didn't see a Win 7 driver (doesn't mean there isn't one, somewhere), but you might get a Vista driver to work.

The link to Intel I posted earlier showed drivers updated as recently as last November. If it was me, I'd try that one first.

Are you getting any warning messages or error reports when you try it? If so, what are they? Have you tried running the installation file as Administrator?

Have you tried running the Intel Driver Update Tool:
Intel® Driver Update Utility
It should be able to detect the hardware, also can you post a snippet of the Device Manager, showing what items have the yellow exclamation points.

You should try updating your chipset. The above tool should detect that automatically for you.

This directly from the realtek website.
Select to download the first file:
"Vista, Windows7 Driver (32/64bits) Driver only (Executable file)"

It would also be good if you can run speccy:
http://www.piriform.com/speccy/download/standard
and fill out you systom information, or post a snippet here. This would let us know more about your computer hardware.

Dumb question, but have you made sure the audio is enabled in the BIOS?

Go into the BIOS and enable the onboard audio.
Install the Realtek driver, if needed.

Wait, It has to be enables in the BIOS because it is showing up on Device Manager, if it was disabled then it wouldn't show.
