For reasons I can not figure out when i attempt to open itunes it 1) takes a very long time to open (over 10 minutes usually) 2) it opens but is unresponsive unless it is the only thing open on my desktop and 3) it immediately freezes when it detects my ipod classic. I have started to like itunes less and less over time but i still fins it quite useful when it works properly. If any one can help solve these strange issues which did not start up until recently it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Depending on what version you currently have you can always try uninstalling and either upgrading or downgrading accordingly. OldVersion.com has old iTunes versions that may work for you. Another thought would be to go to another program like WinAmp. It doesn't have a store (to my knowledge) like iTunes does, so if you use that feature of iTunes you're kind of out of luck. But they have recently improved their support for iPods a lot. Most iPod devices are found automatically without the need for plugins.

I have already tried going to an earlier version of itunes, unfortunately with no better luck. I have been using mediamonkey for now but I will give winamp a look. Do you know if there is a way to import my music library into winamp so it will be organized in the same fashion as my itunes currently is without having to do it all manually?

Yes actually if you are going to use WinAmp there is such a feature. You basically plug in your iPod and there is the option to copy music from iPod to local disk, it will ask you whereabouts you want to put it and then it copies all of your stuff over. Keeps all of the metadata and keeps everything (mostly) organized.

Your iTunes program is corrupt, re-install it to get rid of the problem.

I have already tried re-installing itunes multiple times. I even tried running different versions of itunes but to no avail

iTunes for windows is the problem. Personnaly I prefer use Zune for playlist and iTunes just for sync my ipod because, it's a heavy, slow and not ergonomic soft. :picnic:

iTunes is your problem, replace it with winamp...if your iTunes runs at all i would bite the bullet and deal with thew slowness to export my library and the playlists, which winamp can then import and use

Just to update itunes seems to be working normally following a windows update and an itunes update however now it wont find my ipod. When i attach it my ipod charges but is not found by the pc but i think this is a windows problem since my external hard drive and flash drives are not recognized by the computer either.
