Every time I save a playlist it is gone when I close it and open it again but the playlists are still in the playlist folder for windows media player. If anybody can help it would be most helpful. Thanks.:confused:

Sorry, but could you clarify that?

If the playlists are in the folder, then they are not gone, you just have to open them again.

OK. Do you have the Playlist save box checked?

Open windows Media Player by going to "Start", "Programs", "Windows Media Player";

and left click on it.

This window will open;

Choose "Custom Settings", then "Next" and this window will open;

If you want to use the playlists, tick the "Playlists" box on the lower right of the window. Be careful what else you check. Make sure that the privacy and other settings are what you want before you check them.

Can you tell us what Malwarebytes found please? It may help somebody else with the same problems.

Well I deleted the virus but it was hidden and stored in C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player. It said something about Wallon virus detected. But its all good now.

Same problem as Rosebud!

Is anyone still here monitoring this thread? I have the same problem as Rosebud. I have created playlists and can find them among my files on the computer, yet WMP does not list them under the playlist category. I have all the proper "boxes" checked and have cleared my cache and tied to rebuild the database as well but every time I close WMP the playlists do not show up. I have even moved things around and tried to reorganize what files are being monitored. I am now going to check out the malware download and see if that helps.

ETA: no virus-any suggestions?
